Family Background
My father is a CA who runs his own business (Schiffli Embroidery on Swiss machines) in Gurgaon. My mother is a homemaker (matriculation passed). My younger brother has a BS in Banking and Finance, and works with my father.
Work Life Balance
By keeping in mind that work can be performed by someone else, but life will not wait for me. But, at the same time, whatever work I do, has to be performed to the best of your standards, as you're responsible for your work, as you are for your life.
Current Role
I manage a complete domain for one of the most prominent components for one of the world's best Applications Processor (they power your cell phones and tablets). I also manage a small team of two people, and am responsible for communication within the company as well as to vendors (design and tools)
Changes in the industry
I never worked in the Java industry, but I believe that it has changed enough to become almost obsolete, and then has come back through "similar" technologies, like Android!

JIT compilation and platform agnosticism are the core features, but there are a lot many such languages present now.

It has to change and adapt a lot to be compatible with the upcoming cloud revolution, as well as movement of computation to mobile devices.
