My important career decision
-Moved to IT Services inspite of completing Mechanical Engineering. -Went to do ITIL Expert course
My strongest Skill
Patience has been my biggest strength. Success requires a lot of patience and hard work. I started working at a time when the recession was at its peak in 2008. If I had not been patient enough, I might have landed at a wrong place or given up.
My role model
My mentor and guru Nandkumar Santhanam who gave me strength and guidance to move ahead in my carrier and give it a direction.
Current Trends
I believe that in the next two years the IT Services is going to grow very fast. The services are required more than development in the coming days.
Company and job profile
I am an IT Professional working in IT Services Industry since 2008. Currently I work as an Incident Manager in Fiserv.Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV) is a leading global provider of information management and electronic commerce systems for the financial services industry, providing integrated technology and services that create value and results for our clients.
My achievement
So far, Becoming an ITIL Expert has been the biggest achievement in my life. It has given me a different perspective to view my job and the industry.
Making job easier
Being Simple!! As long as I keep things simple and straight, things will be positive.
Goals and Ambitions
Next five years have been planned to work with different domains of IT and get a post graduate degree plus few certifications.
Managing professional as well as personal life
I take break from work regularly and visit my hometown to see family and friends. Also I make it a point to call / meet my family members regularly.
My advice
If you commit mistakes- Don't be sad. Learn from them and let them go. Time teaches lots of things. Have patience and don't stick to your company for a long time as you need growth in regards to money and learning both.
Being different
Engineers have one Quality which seperates them from normal graduates- Ability to learn new things and work in any area/field they get into. Plus they learn few management techniques like dividing the work into modules and then working- things like these make the job simpler and success comes for sure.
Family Background
I belong to a taluqudar family of UP who were very rich till the Independence. My father is into agriculture.
Views about 'Tech product Introduction is weak among Indians'
We need IT firms to focus on innovation. Currently we focus only on Supporting what exists already. We need to bring innovation to our work and let our people come with different ideas. Of course , one of the main reason for this is that many of our fellow Indians have left for countries like US, UK and helped these countries to make new products.
